Joanna Hill founded The Bagnall Centre in Chesham from her passion to combine orthodox and complimentary healthcare therapies under a single roof. She was on a mission to promote healthy mind and healthy body.
The centre for integrated healthcare, is a large multi-functional building with capacity for over 100 people. It has the potential to be an industry leading facility, but struggled to operate much above 25% of it’s capacity. Why? Like many business owners, Joanna was drowning in day-to-day decision making and losing sight of her mission as a result.
Lacking the right people, processes and structure meant that Joanna couldn’t trust the job would be done properly without her micro-managing it every step of the way. The heart of this business was suffering and it showed.
On the verge of burnout, Joanna needed to be able to step back from the day-to-day and concentrate on leading the business towards long-term success.
“I was struggling to recruit, develop and maintain a high-performing team whilst leading and developing the business”, says Joanna. “Jan’s remit was to develop the whole team, from our recruitment and appraisal processes, through to leadership skills, time management, communication skills and delegation.”
Taking a completely bespoke approach, Jan provided 1-2-1 support to both Joanna and her Centre Manager, helping them to create the staff structure, systems and common goals that were needed to get the business back on track.
